I won’t be posting releases here anymore, so keep track of them at the new blog!
New blog link: here.
Revised version of post because I accidentally deleted it:
Oh wait, it’s been like two five months since we went on hiatus?! Well, I put indeterminate for a reason. I guess it’s a bad thing that the leadership switched to me, but it’s not like there’s anyone else who really wanted to do it.
Wishlist for the future:
A Japanese to English translator.
Oh, and a raw for volume 37 that doesn’t look like crap. Solved with Chinese raws via dm5.com (Mixo Muse) The sfx are in Japanese still.
And a new blog to start fresh. ^^ I’m looking at blog.com at the moment. It’s here.
Wishlist for right now:
Volume 10 in a language other than Japanese, and a translator if that language isn’t Indonesian.Chinese raws.- More people who can QC and know some Japanese.
- That people who send in applications would send me by email instead of posting in the comments.
Apparent publishers: Tongli Publishing Co. in Taiwan; and Elex Media Komputindo in Indonesia.
My email: argentscarf@hotmail.ca
Consider contacting other groups, there are bunch of small groups all over the place that stop scanlating because of lack of members. You could try to team-up with one or more of them, leading to a little larger and more active group. Just my 2 cents, but I do hope that you won’t stop scanlating, Q.E.D and C.M.B are great series.
Of course we’re keeping track of here! Q.E.D. at least should continue – I also think it’s not a bad idea for you to join forces with some guys out there. Big or small there sure are scanlation teams who could use your help and help you.
Yeah, i agree with you 2. Please don’t close this scanlation page. I like QED and CMB.
I love the series Q.E.D. and would be saddened if you were to stop scanslating it. However, if you feel the need to close the group, I’m sure we would all understand. Joining up with another group might be a good thing but it would be completely up to you guys and we would understand that it would take awhile to find another group that you would be comfortable in dealing with. I – we wish you the best of luck and hope to hear back from you.
Hmm… A good idea for sure.
Thanks a lot, everyone. I’m going to try to see who still wants to continue in the group first, and then I’ll go scouting for other groups we could join. I don’t really want to do that because the two times we tried that ended in failure.
Or I’ll just suddenly learn Japanese (yeah right) and do most of it myself.
I know the two main series are very difficult to translate, so just take your time, both for the scanlation and rebuilding the group. Good luck!
though I don’t comment much, I keep checking your page every day. I love Q.E.D. and C.M.B and hope you can still continue, maybe contacting other groups would help, so even if it takes time, as long as the group exists, I’ll keep checking, glad some people take the time to work on this!
That’s sad, because you were the only ones doing (quality !) work on these series…
But we understand your situation and your urges. Just do what’s best for you, after having done so much for us.
I have Indonesian translation, but me bad in English …
I’ll give you money, I’ll give you silver, gold…bu PLEASE don’t stop scanlating!!! 😮
However, I understand how difficult your situation is, so take your time 🙂
I love Q.E.D. and C.M.B. and have been patiently waiting. Didn’t want to say much since I understand real life comes first and things happen. I hope you don’t drop the series, and hope you find a solution to get up and running again.
I love Q.E.D. & C.M.B. so please continue!
Please continue q.e.d. and c.m.b. they are both better than detective conan by a lot. I have a friend that may be able to do japanese to english translations, perhaps you can send me a sample, and I’ll see how he does on it.
It’s so sad if you stop everything here. I can do everything to help you, but not translating stuff… I wish you could find a translator soon.
Hello argent scarf if you can resend me a sample, i accidentally deleted it ^^ and cannot find it. Also my friend will wants to know if there will be any compensation.
Most people that work as scanslators do it strictly for fun because it is in no way a job and real life always takes precedence which is why sometimes it is months before we get releases. Unless you translate for a bigger company like Toyopop, the likelihood of getting compensated is nil and should not be expected. I’m in no way speaking in place of the heads at Orionwave but traditionally it is just a group of people that do what they love in their free time.
I hope you will continue with the scans — these two series are some of my very favourites! — but I know that rebuilding will take time. Courage!! And don’t worry, we can wait! Quality is worth it ^^
My friend says he will not be able to do it, because of some terms he is unfamiliar with… thanks for the chance.
Even if I haven’t commented up until now, I must say that I’m a big fan of both Q.E.D and C.M.B, and would be sadenend if you decided to drop the series.
I hope you are able to find some new members or team up with another group willing to continue the work on these great series.
Keep up the good work, and best of luck!
Have you tried to ask KaWorkz Scans to help you out? They love mystery manga too
Why of all the scanlating groups in the world did it have to happen to the two best manga ever?!
Although it is purely selfish on my part, I hope that you find a way to continue. The work Orion Wave has done on both mangas has been very well done and they are both enjoyable. Regardless, thank you for what you have done so far.
I hope you will continue to translate CMB and QED. Lately I am angry with myself as I see tons of dropped projects which I like and i don’t know none of the languages needed to help. SO PLEASE don’t drop it! *^*
Please, please don’t stop scanlating! Please. You’re doing a great job scalating and it would be terrible to stop now.
im can help you with english translations if you can help me too!!
Have you join a scanlation team?
well can you tell us your new team? if you are still reading this…
Btw… i heard you are using indonesian version for tranlation.
I can help to continue translating…
i am mangascanlation staff
i don’t want Q.E.D project to end like this
again… if you are still reading this
^ our hero… I can donate some if there is a guaranteed translation.
Really? Is it still on the market? I am current in Taiwan and MAY be able to provide a raw. I am also learning Chinese (although I am a native speaker, I grew up in the US). My family is also fluent. Let me know where I might be able to pick it up. (but please just comment here because I do NOT check my spam email).
I can’t find it on 東立’s website(http://www.tongli.com.tw). From eslite’s website, you can find that it exists but is not currently being sold, except for volumes 36 and 37 (http://www.eslite.com/Search_BW.aspx?query=%E7%A5%9E%E9%80%9A%E5%B0%8F%E5%81%B5%E6%8E%A2&page=4). And I found everything but the first two on books.com.tw, but I’m leaving the country in like two weeks… so if you want me to grab a couple (not all of them, please) let me know.
I guess volume 10, then, thanks. I’d rather keep the money/donation side of this as low as possible since we don’t have server costs or anything actually requiring donation.
So, is that a yes to translate? I don’t know how hard it would be, though. I guess we can always look at the Japanese for an idea of what’s going on anyway.
Dunno yet. It’s a “I like this manga/scan groups quality enough to spend some money on a manga book, though I might search the secondhand store first”. The thing about me translating is, I’m taking summer classes and the semester is drawing to an end, but I anticipate an okay ending. Once I get back to school, I am also facing an indeterminate amount of homework. This ranges anything from 12 hours of homework per week to 45 hours of homework per week (not exaggerating in the slightest). I’ll petition my uncle to order them for me (since I don’t have any, well, official documents from Taiwan…yet).
Also, there are also some websites that have Chinese scans. Are those scans of bad quality? It’d be cheaper than be getting the volume too. Here is one such example:
http://www.dm5.com/manhua-shentongxiaozhentan/
i want to help u!!
but i can’t japanese!!
Well do you speak some other language in which they might already have scans out? Korean? Spanish? French? Chinese? Perhaps you could check the consistency of the translations.
@MixoMuse
… Actually, that solves the problem. It even has volume 37, so I can use that instead of those crap raws I found earlier. Don’t bother ordering it anymore, I guess I’ll try looking for a Chinese translator or something.
Which one you want translated first? XD
http://www.dm5.com/m18925-p60/ From page 118. So, around 94 pages. So if you’ve got time, it would really help.
The Japanese raws are still better than those, as they’re not double pages. It’s not like I need the raws themselves, it’s actually the text that I needed more. I forgot to mention that earlier, sorry.
You mean from the page you linked? Cuz that’s uh page 22 and there’s 106 left in that section.
Whoa. I just clicked that link and it’s totally different from the one I clicked on earlier today.
Hello, I can read french, english and my Aunt knows some chnese. Can I help?
Also, Agent Scarf. Now seems like a good time to figure out how to contact you outside of this website. Any ideas how? AIM/YIM/MSN/Google Chat/QQ/IRC?
email me at argentscarf@hotmail.ca
Thanks for Q.E.D. chapter!!!! Love this manga!!
